How to stop collection agencies from contacting you
If you’re interested to deal with your original creditor regarding payment of debt and would not like to interact with the collection agency, you’ll need to stop their collection efforts. Under the FDCPA, you have the right to ask the collection agency to stop contacting you and they must comply with your request. This is where the Request letter to stop contact can help. A sample format of this letter is given below.

Dear Collection Manager,
Re: Account Number__________
This letter is a request that you shouldn’t contact me in order to collect payments on the account stated above. I am actually interested to work out a plan with the original creditor.
I hereby request you to stop collection efforts immediately or face legal actions under the state or federal laws.
Yours truly,
